ENTRY
To enter Haus Margarete, you cross the cobblestone drive and pass through the massive oak split "conversation" door, under the house markings. As you do, you pass into another world. A world of quiet and peaceful pleasures. Our entryway area welcomes you with its country charm: old Mosel tile entry floor, an arched doorway leads into the cellar, winding oak stairs, and a small balcony above. Hang up your coat in the alcove and set down your bags. You have arrived at your Mosel country cottage!

BEDROOM 1
Climb the heavy oak stairs to the upper floor to the two bedrooms. On the right is the "Master" bedroom with a reproduction queen-size iron and brass bed (150 cm by 200 cm) with hand-tufted English mattress, down comforters and down pillows. Lace curtains decorate the windows, but blackout rolling shades are hidden in the window frame so you can sleep in. An antique pine dresser and an armoire provide adequate space for your clothing. There is even a convenient WC off the bedroom--so unlike our ancestors and the farmers that once lived here, you won't have to go downstairs at night. An oil-filled electric heater is in the room to take the chill off on early spring or late fall mornings and evenings.

As in the "master" bedroom there is a blackout roller shade for restful nights and/or long mornings in bed and oil-filled electric heaters to take the chill off the room on early spring or late fall mornings and evenings.
